The Seoul Wall Imprint

Conceptual Model / Research Project
This project reimagines the traditional jjimjilbangs, Korean thermal baths, by placing them underground beneath the historical Seoul Wall. The wall, which once divided the city into two distinct parts, is a symbol of Seoul’s complex history. By situating the baths in this location, the project seeks to connect the past and present, using the jjimjilbangs as a space for both relaxation and cultural reflection.
The conceptual model, made from wood, concrete, polystyrene, and cardboard, explores the pathways and spatial connections of the thermal baths.
